Stakeholders

Student mental wellness is shaped not only by the individual, but also by the wider environment in which students learn, live, build relationships, and seek support.

A comprehensive response therefore depends on the participation of the people, institutions, professionals, organisations, and public systems that influence students throughout their educational journey.

Students

Students are central to the mental-wellness ecosystem. Their experiences, concerns, choices, participation, and willingness to seek support must guide the design of services intended for them.

Parents, Families and Peers

Parents, families, friends, and peers can provide emotional support, recognise changes in behaviour, encourage help-seeking, and contribute to a more understanding environment around the student.

Teachers, Faculty and Educational Institutions

Teachers, faculty members, universities, colleges, and other educational institutions are closely connected to students’ daily lives. They can help create supportive learning environments, encourage early identification, and guide students towards appropriate resources.

Counsellors and Mental-Health Professionals

Counsellors, psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors, and other qualified professionals provide assessment, guidance, clinical support, referral, and continuity of care when students require professional assistance.

Researchers, NGOs and Community Organisations

Researchers, voluntary organisations, NGOs, social agencies, and community organisations contribute knowledge, outreach, education, local understanding, and additional pathways of support for student mental wellness.

Policymakers and Public Institutions

Policymakers, public-health systems, education authorities, and other public institutions can strengthen the conditions needed for accessible, preventive, and coordinated student mental-health support.

Technology and Implementation Partners

Technology specialists and implementation partners can support the responsible development, delivery, security, accessibility, and sustained use of digital mental-health systems.

Collaborating with Stakeholders

The Mansik Shakti project holds the vision of creating a society that prioritizes mental health and supports students in their journey towards well-being. Through collaboration, research, education, and public awareness, the project aims to address the challenges surrounding student mental health and promote supportive care in educational institutions and communities.

Teachers have a particularly important role in students’ lives. Educational programmes can help equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to identify signs of mental distress, provide appropriate support, and create an environment that encourages student well-being.

Bringing together mental-health professionals, educational institutions, NGOs, community organisations, public institutions, and other relevant stakeholders can create a broader and more effective network of knowledge, support, and resources.

Student mental wellness is a shared responsibility. A supportive and nurturing environment gives students a stronger opportunity not only to manage difficulties, but also to learn, develop, and thrive.
